ANNALEE JEFFERIES

Annalee Jefferies photoANNALEE JEFFERIES celebrates her 20th season at the Alley as a Company member. Recent Alley credits include Josie Hogan in A Moon for the Misbegotten and Haley in Bad Dates. Her most noted Alley roles are Blanche in A Streetcar Named Desire, the title role in Hedda Gabler, Harper in Angels in America which played at the Venice Biennale, Nurse Ratched in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and Marion in Danton’s Death. She has performed in 19 plays directed by Hartford Stage Artistic Director, Michael Wilson, including nine plays performed in residence at Hartford Stage as an Associate Artist: titles include Night of the Iguana, 8 by Tenn and The Learned Ladies of Park Avenue. She has performed across the nation and abroad including Arkadina in The Seagull, Sonia in Uncle Vanya with Hal Holbrook, and appeared opposite Mandy Patinkin in Enemy of the People at Williamstown Theatre Festival. While on sabbatical during the 2000-01 season she performed as Clytemnestra, Helen of Troy and Andromeche in John Barton's 10-hour epic Tantalus, directed by Sir Peter Hall, which originated at Denver Center Theatre Company and had a five-month U.K. tour. Prior to the Alley, she was a company member at the Arena Stage in Washington, D.C., and performed You Can't Take It With You and After The Fall at the Hong Kong Arts Festival. She studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.
