Slam Poetry (ages 13–19)
This performance poetry/spoken word class has one main objective: to inspire and motivate students to write and perform narrative and meaningful poetry. This workshop will allow students the opportunity to appreciate verse and understand how this form of literature can influence, impact and change others. Students in this class will be eligible to compete in the Alley's Slam Poetry Competition on February 25, 2013.
Audition and Monologues (ages 11–14) - SOLD OUT
In this class, students will not only understand the purpose of an audition but also work on auditioning skills (introduction of pieces, interaction with directors, making adjustments and taking direction, appropriate dress). Students will also select, rehearse, and perform two contrasting monologues while developing their acting resume.
Theatre Games (ages 8–10) - SOLD OUT
Using Spolin Theatre Games, students will expand their improvisation skills while expanding their imagination.
