Saturday Studios teach students to create and collaborate in theatre. Acting, vocal techniques, movement and improvisation skills are taught on a continuing and progressive basis. Each semester (December & May) will culminate with a demonstration of learning for parents and family.
All first-time students are placed in FUNDAMENTALS and are exposed to a rotation of exemplary alley theatre arts teachers who teach in units. Units include: sharing focus and responsibility with Viola Spolin’s Theatre Games, emotion work with Rasa Boxes and exploring physical and vocal connections through Viewpoints and Laban Movement techniques.
SCENE STUDY is geared to help students put skills together and helps students prepare scenes and monologues from plays written by playwrights like Shakespeare, Edward Albee and A.R. Gurney
Both classes are small, with generally no more than 15 students.
Classes are sold in packages of 4. Each 4 class package is known as a “FlexCard,” and costs $80. You can renew your child’s FlexCard throughout the year. All FlexCards expire on May 4, 2013.
