John Carrithers

John Carrithers is an accomplished filmmaker with over 20 years experience producing, directing and editing a wide range of short and feature-length documentaries, commercials and television programs for diverse audiences.  Some of these projects include: Mothers At War, a film about women combat veterans; 38 Pieces, a documentary about the Byzantine Frescoes rescued by Dominique de Menil which is directed by Susan and Francois de Menil, and Breaking Boundaries, a feature length documentary he directed about Houston Ballet.  Some other works include: Cai Guo-Qiang’s Odyssey, a short documentary about the creation of a massive gun powder painting by world famous Chinese artist Cai Guo-Qiang in collaboration with the Museum of Fine Arts Houston; and Beyond Traditional Borders, a short piece that followed university students as they travel to pediatric AIDS clinics in Lesotho to test new technologies developed to address global health issues.
