Cliff Caruthers

Cliff Caruthers is a San Francisco based sound designer and composer with over 300 production credits, including 1984, The Winter’s Tale, Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, and Born Yesterday for Alley Theatre, Frankenstein: Playing With Fire for Guthrie Theater, Julius Caesar for The Acting Company, Troilus and Cressida for Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Man in Love for Kansas City Repertory Theatre, Caucasian Chalk Circle for American Conservatory Theater; TRAGEDY: a tragedy for Berkeley Repertory Theatre, American Night for California Shakespeare Theater, A Clean House for TheatreWorks Silicon Valley, Bug for San Francisco Playhouse, and A Dreamplay, Pelleas & Melisande, Ubu Roi, and many others for The Cutting Ball Theater. Mr. Caruthers is co-curator of the San Francisco Tape Music Festival, is a proud member of United Scenic Artists, and teaches sound design at Stanford University and San Francisco State University.
