David Rainey is in his 20th season as a Resident Acting Company Member. Recent roles include 4th Party Member in 1984, Ebenezer Scrooge in A Christmas Carol, Shepherd in The Winter’s Tale, Marcel the Head Waiter in Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express, Ravanche/Trevelle and others in The Three Musketeers, Reggie in Skeleton Crew, Snug in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Charles/Corin in As You Like It, Albert/Kevin in Clybourne Park, Sterling in Mauritius, and the title role in Othello. He has performed with The National Actors Theatre, Joseph Papp Public Theater, Manhattan Theatre Club, The Acting Company, NYSF, Berkeley Rep (with Theatre de la Jeune Lune), Steppenwolf Theatre Company, Hartford Stage Company, Dallas Theater Center, Guthrie Theater, Crossroads Theatre Company, Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Ford’s Theatre, Shakespeare Festival LA, among others. Trained at Juilliard, he received the Drama Division’s highest distinction, the Michel and Suria Saint-Denis Prize. He is also Executive Artistic Director of The Landing Theatre Company, and an acting coach.
