Jim Youmans

JIM YOUMANS Previously at the Alley Theatre Mr. Youmans has designed scenery and projections for Ether Dome by Elizabeth Egloff, and The Christians by Lucas Hnath. His Broadway credits include: West Side Story, Patti LuPone’s Gypsy, Twyla Tharp’s Come Fly, Swinging on a Star. Off-Broadway theatre credits include Hedwig And the Angry Inch, Summer Of ‘42, Matt and Ben, Jeffery as well as productions at Manhattan Theater Club, Roundabout Theater, NY Shakespeare Festival, and others. Recently at Regional Theaters: Disgraced at The Guthrie Theater, Hartford Stage and The Huntington Theatre in Boston where he won the Independent Reviewers of New England award for Best Set Design. Mr. Youmans has designed extensively at The Guthrie, South Coast Rep, Seattle Rep, ACT Theatre, Denver Center, Mark Taper Forum, The Old Globe and others. Mr. Youmans also designs for Broadcast Television working with Clickspring Design on projects for CNN, NBC, The Weather Channel and ABC. He even designed the sets for Houston’s own ABC 13 KTRK. Jim also designs sets for corporate events around the world. His clients in the event world have included Heineken, Deloitte, IBM, Novartis, Rite Aid and many others. He is married to playwright and screen writer Elizabeth Egloff. His awards include the Drama Logue Award; two Telly Awards and an Emmy Award Nomination for several Broadcast Design projects, and two Outer Critics Circle nominations.
