Judith Ivey

Judith Ivey is a four-time nominated and two-time winner of the Tony Award, three-time nominated and two-time winner of the Drama Desk Award, three-time nominated and winner of the Lucille Lortel award, Emmy nominated, an Obie Award winner, and a two-time Bass Award nominee for directing. Judith has appeared in over 40 films (most recent - Big Stone Gap, Cortez, In a Glass Darkly), and starred in four television series (“Designing Women”), and guest-starred in many more (“White Collar,” “Nurse Jackie,” “Bloodline,” “Law and Order: SVU”). She can be seen in the web series, The Accidental Wolf. She received an honorary Doctorate from her alma mater, Illinois State University, was inducted into the Texas Film Hall of Fame, and received the Texas State Medal of Arts for Theatre. Her latest directing endeavor was Cat on a Hot Tin Roof at Center Stage in Baltimore and Delusion by Proxy at the Martha’s Vineyard Playhouse. Judith is thrilled to return to the Alley Theatre.
