Katie Bender is a playwright, performer and theatre maker. Her plays include Still Now, The Fault, and Instructions for a Seance. Co-created and devised works include Next Year People, an immersive adaptation of Alice in Wonderland and Church of the Passionate Cat. Filled with magic, physical exertion, and a poetic delight in the mundane, Katie is obsessed with the unending potential for live performance. Her work has been produced and or developed at Fusebox Festival, UCSB Launch Pad, Texas State University, Kitchen Dog, The New Harmony Project, The Orchard Project, EST, NYTW, New Victory LabWorks, Icicle Creek Festival, UT Austin, MoHA, ZACH Theatre, and The Playwrights’ Center. On the Kilroys List and a finalist for the inaugural Shakespeare’s Sister Fellowship, she has her MFA from The University of Texas and was a 2016-17 Jerome Fellow at The Playwrights’ Center.
