Ryan Chavez

RYAN CHAVEZ returns to the Alley as a multi-instrumentalist after last season's One Man, Two Guvnors, where he provided percussion and vocals for the house band The Craze. He recently composed the film score for a documentary titled County Fair, Texas, provided original music for Valvoline's current "Never Idle" television campaign, and works from Downtown Houston as a musician/engineer/producer for various acts (Get A Life, Middle Child, Josh Grider). He spent three years as a drummer for Smoking Popes from Chicago, IL, before returning to Houston full time to release two albums for New West Records after forming Grandfather Child and Robert Ellis & The Boys. While his musical path has provided him a trans-continental journey, his attraction to Houston has yielded the founding of such institutions as the Day for Night music festival, concert production company Super Unison, and the influential Hands Up Houston booking collective.
