Sharon Lockwood is pleased to be back at the Alley Theatre where she last appeared as Sonia in Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike. She has lived in the Bay Area for over 40 years, where she has performed in virtually every major (and minor) theatre. Sharon has had a long association with the Berkeley Repertory Theatre where favorite credits include Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike (Bay Area Critics Circle Award), It Can't Happen Here, Zorro in Hell, The Triumph of Love, Volpone, The Alchemist, Caucasian Chalk Circle, The Magic Fire, Reckless, and Pentecost. She has also performed extensively at American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco. Favorites there include Napoli, Dead Metaphor, 'Tis Pity She's a Whore, The Rose Tattoo, The Cherry Orchard, Love and Information, and 14 seasons of A Christmas Carol. Other Bay Area credits include California Shakespeare Theatre, Aurora Theatre, and Shakespeare Santa Cruz. Sharon originated the role of Barbara in the world premiere of Nickel and Dimed under the direction of Bart Sher, which played at the Mark Taper in Los Angeles. Other regional credits include La Jolla Playhouse, The Old Globe, San Diego Rep, Arizona Theatre Company, Milwaukee Rep, Missouri Rep and Long Wharf Theatre. In 2016, Sharon was honored with the Lunt Fontanne Fellowship and participated in its Master Class at Ten Chimneys in Wisconsin. Last year she received the Theatre Bay Area Lifetime Achievement Award presented by Berkeley Rep's Artistic Director Tony Taccone.
