Last week, three Asian-born doctors who work at the Baylor College of Medicine completed the Alley Articulated program, an innovative accent reduction program designed for international professionals in an English-speaking marketplace. Each doctor completed an eight-session course, received an extensive pre-vocal assessment, and a post-vocal improvement plan. Throughout the course, and in addition to accent reduction, we focused on tone and projection, confidence, and clarity in public speaking. The scientists appreciated the opportunity to work with our master teaching artists, greatly improving their dialect, and completed the program with substantial new tools and exercises for continued post-program growth. Alley Articulated is an excellent way to get the resident company involved off stage. Elizabeth Bunch has been working with us as we launch the program, and she is immensely enjoying the work.
