As the Theatre remains closed, the impact donors have on the Alley Theatre is more significant than ever before. Traditionally, contributions account for half of the theatre’s annual operating budget. Due to the lack of earned revenue (ticket and subscription sales), contributions from generous donors account for the entire operating budget until the Alley Theatre can resume in-person performances.
As the Theatre remains closed, all in-person donor events and benefits are suspended until it is safe to reopen the Theatre and gather in person. At this time, your annual gift to the Alley will be completely tax-deductible as allowed by law.
Your support will ensure that the work of the Alley Theatre continues virtually through innovative productions like A Christmas Carol. Your support also makes possible a wide range of digital and educational initiatives through Alley@Home.
Important note about contributions in 2020
The CARES Act made notable changes to charitable giving for 2020. The updates include that cash contributions made in 2020 are now fully deductible up to 100% of a person’s adjusted gross income. Previously, individuals could take a charitable deduction of up to 60 percent of their adjusted gross income. For additional information about the tax law change, please go here.
