2017 Alley All New Festival
With the world premiere of Syncing Ink leading the way, the second annual Alley All New Festival was a hit! In 10 days, seven fabulous new works were showcased as readings and workshop productions, drawing over a thousand theatre-lovers and industry professionals to our theatre. But don’t take our word for it--here are a few rave reviews from our donors.
“The 2017 Alley All New Festival gave all participants a magnificent, marvelous mixture of comedy, drama, history, and song to enrich their lives.” - Vicki Barosh
“I was able to attend the Lover, Beloved Saturday. That was absolutely fantastic! I was so excited when Greg stepped out and mentioned it would make production.” - Sharon Hoyt
“Great weekend. Sorry we didn't get to see ALL of them, but loved what we saw! Busy weekend!" - Jackie Mazow
“Who tears up at a reading, for goodness sake! That would be us at Bekah Brunstetter’s The Cake. What a refreshing play that explores bedrock issues with grace and humanity.” - Tom & Reggie Nichols
"I thought the festival was a huge success. We enjoyed it tremendously. Great job!!" - Butch Mach, Board President
The Alley All New Festival is comprised entirely of new works. It serves as an excellent opportunity for writers to see their work read aloud for the first time and to hear feedback from audiences during post-performance talk-backs. For those involved, as artists or patrons, the festival was a hub of collaboration and high-caliber entertainment. Thank you to all who supported this imperative initiative, and we hope to see you next year!
