Alley Theatre is no stranger to breathing new life into classic literature. From the heartwarming A Christmas Carol to the chilling whodunit of Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express, the Alley has a rich history of transforming beloved stories from the page to the stage. Our latest production, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë, exemplifies this love. But why revisit these well-worn tales? Can't we simply pick up the book and delve into the world Brontë crafted?

In murder mysteries, every phone ring promises suspense and revelation. Phones play a pivotal role in creating an atmosphere of intrigue and uncertainty. From Alfred Hitchcock's classics to Agatha Christie's timeless stories, phones are both weapons and tools.

The 1970s was a significant decade for Mexican-American culture in Houston. Houston was already deeply rooted in Hispanic heritage. The 1970s left a huge mark on Houston's identity. The decade impacted music and art to activism and community organizing. This profoundly shaped the city's cultural landscape.  

Houston is a city that is more than 45% Hispanic. There are many social and economic barriers prevent these residents of all ages from feeling welcome inside Houston’s major arts institutions.
