2020 National Hispanic Heritage month

From September 15 through October 15, 2020, the Alley Theatre celebrated National Hispanic Heritage Month with a series of online events. Overall, our online events reached hundreds of Hispanic Houstonians with over 4,800 views across all activities. Activities included:

Primer Borrador: an online storytelling residency with a platform highlighting everyday people and their amazing stories
Retablos: Houston area actors and special guests read excerpts from Octovio Solis' Retablos: Stories From a Life Lived Along the Border
Early Childhood Education Center Readings: Through our continued partnership with the Association for the Advancement for Mexican Americans, Alley staff members read children's books in spanish for their Early Childhood Education Center.
Instagram Takeovers: Alley Theatre's weekly #AskTheAlley Instagram series amplified the voices of Hispanic employees
